U.K. Domination at the 2009 Grammys

Duffy, Adele & Estelle

Well after watching the Grammy's last night (i stopped watching soon after the Swagger Like Us performance) I have to admit that the Grammys were really about our neighbors across the pond. In my opinion, some of the best highlights of the show was seeing British songstresses like Adele, Estelle and Duffy win awards for their work.

Here are the categories that they won in:

Best Female Pop Vocal - Adele
Best New Artist - Adele
Best Pop Vocal Album - Duffy
Best Rap Collaboration - Estelle ft Kanye West

Likewise, you can't forget about heavy weights like Coldplay and Robert Plant (who is he????) that bagged up the following categories:

Record Of The Year - Robert Plant
Best Pop Collaboration w/ Vocals - Robert Plant
Best Country Collaboration w/ Vocals - Robert Plant
Best Contemporary Folk/Americana Album - Robert Plant
Album of the Year - Robert Plant
Best Pop Performance - Coldplay
Song of the Year - Coldplay
Best Rock Album - Coldplay

Finally, some other Grammy wins worth taking note of are:

Best R&B Album - Jennifer Hudson
Rap Album of the Year - Wezzy (really..... was his album that big this year???)
Best Rap Solo Performance - Weezy
Best Rap Song - Weezy
Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group - Weezy
Producer of the Year - Rick Rubin
Best Contemporary R&B Album - Mary J. Blige
Best Female R&B Vocal Solo - Alicia Keys
Male Pop Vocal Performance - John Mayer
